The Bradford Magic Circle Logo

It was first mentioned by the committee in May 1978, that we have a badge or logo to identify Members of the Bradford Magic Circle.

A competition to design such a logo was announced in the Circles magazine. An amazing 47 designs were submitted by members, and these were displayed at the August meeting, where members were to be given a paper vote. In the event of a tie for first place, the winners would then be submitted to a second ballot.

As only 16 members were at the August Meeting it was decided to hold the voting over until the September meeting.

The voting in September was very conclusive, taking 13 of the 25 votes, Alan Driffields design was favourite and he was therefore awarded a shield for the design at the following AGM in 1979.

The Badge/Logo was first appeared on the front of the Bulletin No 124, October 1978. (The Bulletin was the Bradford Magic Circles Magazine).
