History of The Bradford Magic Circle

The Bradford Magic Circle was formed in 1948 after a advertisement in the Telegraph and Argus. Since then The Bradford Magic Circle has seen hundreds of magicians go from strength to strength performing this visual and entertaining art form. Performing magic and improving magicians skills and presentation have always been at the forefront of The Bradford Magic Circles aims, and, whilst achieving this, we still maintain a friendly, polite and helpful membership.

Today, The Bradford Magic Circle hosts a membership of over 80 members ranging in ages from 14 into the 90's, both male and female. We hold monthly meetings and also annual events such as our 'Hey Presto Show' which is held in March at the Bingley Arts Centre. This show has continued to be a great success as the recent full-houses have shown. We also hold annual competitions in both stage and close-up magic allowing our members to show their magical styles, new illusions and ideas.

Within our membership there are a countless number of professional, semi-professional and amateur magicians all actively learning and studying the art of magic. Many are performing regularly, whether it be on the street, in clubs or at private functions. The Bradford Magic Circle has magicians that can perform in almost any situation.
