Hello again friends, the answer to last months question --- It was a competition in The Boys Magic Service catalogue circa 1951. The company was based in a small upstairs room in Prestatyn, North Wales.

When I was eleven, I was sent to convalesce in Rhyl, just a few miles away.

I got my self a job packing the tricks and for this I received a shell old penny.

I started magic at eleven years of age. I was given a Punch puppet for my birthday. Having seen a P and J man in the local park who did magic as well, I was truly hooked. That man was Arthur Leo. Arthur was a very popular party entertainer. I can still remember many of his transfixing effects performed with his `light blue` voice. He was captivating. I read all the magic books in the local library. The Dewey Decimal code for these was 793.8. Magic was my life. Every waking thought was about magic. I was obsessed.
