The P.S. Its Magic (Not So Magic) Page

Well here it is, like it or not... the first of my PS its Magic (not so magic) pages! This is where you can have a break from the usual magical items in the Billet and enjoy (hopefully!) the funny stories, jokes, emails, and other items that come my way.

So to kick it off I'm going to start off with a funny story that some of you out there will appreciate. As this story is, I suppose 'magically' related and to avoid any embarrassment, the person in question has asked me not to reveal their identity, so here goes.

A former member of the Bradford Magic Circle asked a current member if he would do a childrens show for his church. He had done this show annually himself for a number of years but unfortunately was unable to do it this particular year. As a friend he said he would help him out and do this for him. During his act he decided to do a trick that he had performed on a number of occasions for adults but had not in tried it his childrens act. This trick involved a £10 note locked between 2 pieces of perpex with a padlock, and 6 keys. The keys were mixed up and 5 children were invited to choose a key for themselves leaving one for himself, (you are already ahead of me here i can tell!) He gave all the children the option to swap keys with the remaining one at any time, telling them that if they got the key that opened the padlock then they would win the £10 note. Imagine the horror on his face when the 3rd child put his key in and he heard the padlock spring open! This had never happened before and the only thing he could do was to keep to his word and give the child the £10.

The ironic thing about this story is that he was doing the show as a favour and there was no fee involved, so he couldn't even go away thinking he had got his normal fee minus £10!

Now its your job to guess who it was!!!!
