Philip Crowther
Philip Crowther started the evening with a new routine set to music, which included colour changing water and a rice fountain. He then vanished a silk, which appeared in a collapsing box, held by Victoria. Continuing with his linking ring routine, again assisted by Victoria. He finished with a card trick which led him into a head chopper illusion assisted by Steve (me). Philip grows in confidence every time I see him and he is always willing to perform.Keith was compere for the evening and did a good job at filling in between the acts. He performed a mixture of silk and card effects as well as a comedy prediction. Next was...
Arnie Baumanis
Arnie presented some die, card and rope tricks to good effect. His rope tricks were especially good. He finished with 4 cards which the pips changed colours to match four different coloured silks. The last silk and card were multicoloured.
Nicholas Mohammed
It was good to see Nicholas back with us from university, and he was excellent as ever. After a few gags he performed his X-Ray X-Tra trick, which he kept trying to guess my card without success throughout the act. He continued with C&R rope and a flying card trick and finished with the correct answer to my card on his X-ray film.
Stevie B
Stevie performed his usual act of 6 card repeat, egg bag and finished with Tony Stevens 'No tear newspaper'. Well done Stevie.
Robbo & Crow
It's been some time since I've seen Ray perform and I wish he'd do more. His scarecrow act was excellent and included silk to cane, T&R newspaper, C&R rope, egg bag, colour changing flower to name but a few. Everyone wanted to know how he moved the scarecrows head when both his arms were doing things at the same time. He ended with a scarecrow head instead of his own. I was waiting for the scarecrow to have Ray's head!!!
It was a cracking end to a super show, and it was good to see quite a few friends along as well.
