Hello everyone, Well, good news at last on our search for new premises. Your committee made the final choice from two venues - Carlton House, Little Horton Lane and St James Church Hall, Bolton Road. The Carlton House venue was a close choice, but is the one we have gone for. It is only one street away from our present premises, and faces towards the ice rink and over towards Raphael House (for those of you who were members when we used that building as our headquarters). It is reached by turning into Morley Street from the city centre (Alhambra) side and then you have two options. Either turn first left into Wilton Street and follow the road to the right at the end (you can't go anywhere else). Carlton House is at the top end of the closed off part of Little Horton Lane, where there is limited car parking space. The amount will depend upon what is on at the Alhambra as these streets tend to be used by that theatre's patrons. The main car park can be found by continuing up Morley Street and turning left onto Howard Street. There is a private car park at the end on the left belonging to a firm of accountants that we can use in the evenings. If you park there you have to walk on to the end of Howard Street and turn left. Sounds confusing? It's not at all, but to make it all easier we suggest the following. At our August meeting we intend a "walk over" from our present venue to familiarise you with the new area. Regretfully we will not have access to Carlton House that evening, but at least you will all know where it is. In addition, Keith has produced a map of the area, which is available for you to take away this evening. Now on to the last meeting with Philip Partridge. I have mixed views on it, and expect it is reported upon elsewhere in this issue. I was a bit disappointed at the "magical content", but others may disagree. Do write in with your opinions.
