Welcome to the September Billet. Well the summer is just about over. I don’t think we can complain about the weather too much, we’ve seen plenty of sunshine, albeit mixed in with plenty of rain too which I hope didn’t spoil your enjoyment too much. The highlight of the BMC summer, for those who were there, was the BBQ held in August. For those that weren’t there at this great fun event (and sadly that is a lot of you), there is a report in this issue that will tell you all about it. If you think it sounds like fun, why not make sure you are there next year? I’d like to give my thanks to all those who helped out, especially Louise Bellerby who stepped in at the last minute to do the cooking.
Unfortunately I was on holiday at the August meeting in which our friends from the Huddersfield Circle of Magicians came and entertained our members with a magic show. From what I’ve been told it was a superb evening and great for us to get more involved with other local societies. I’m hoping that there will be a report of this evening for the next issue of the Billet in October. Plans and preparations are well under way for the Presidents Dinner, this year being held on Friday 20th November. It promises to be a great evening with a fantastic line up of entertainment and a lovely meal. If you want to attend, please make sure to give your names and menu choices to Keith Pickles as soon as possible. A menu is printed on page 5 of this issue.
A forward notice for the October meeting - the close up competition will be going ahead as planned although there won’t be a stage competition this year. After the competition we’ll be holding a One Trick Contest. These are great fun and it’s not too late to put your name forward to be part of it. Please let Mark Waddington know.
Finally I’m sorry to report that one of our members needs to make a formal apology to another member. Please read the apology inside.
So on to tonights meeting, we have a dealer dem from Jack Delvin so please make him welcome and have a great evening.
