Another month has come around and here we are with another issue of the Billet. It’s only been three weeks since our last meeting as the April meeting was held a week later to accommodate the Easter holidays. Haven’t we had an amazing few weeks weather-wise? I’ve been lucky enough to have had two weeks holiday over the Easter period and I couldn’t have asked for better weather. Sitting here today though, typing this, we seem to have reverted back to the usual dull, wet, chilly days we’ve come to know and love...

Ok, some dates in the BMC calendar worth mentioning in advance. Those of you who attended the BBQ we held at Ken Mitchell's house last year will know what a fantastic time we all had. We are holding another BBQ this year on Sunday 23rd August and this time it will be at my house in Huddersfield. More details will follow in the June issue of the Billet.

We have now got the menu and the costs of this years Presidents Dinner which will be held on Friday 20th November and will be held once more at the Ramada Jarvis Hotel in Bingley, the same venue as last year. Last years dinner was a sell out so if you intend on going, make sure you book early. See page 13 for more details.

Finally, a quick reminder that there is an extra meeting in May on Friday 22nd, this is a lecture by Canadian magician Shawn Farquhar and promises to be a superb night. Don’t miss it.

I might also just mention that there will be a combined July/August Billet this year as I will be enjoying a two week holiday at the beginning of August and shall have better things on my mind! Now finally on to tonight's meeting. For those of us who weren’t able to be there, we have a chance tonight to see the superb lecture given by Steve Naylor at the Northern Magic Circles Spring Parade convention. It’s entitled Table Hopping with Both Feet on the Ground and I’m told it’s well worth seeing. So sit back and enjoy!
