Thanks you to all who came along and supported the Hey Presto Show. It was good to have a sell-out again, and thanks must go to Ken Mitchell for all the efforts he put in to publicise the show. It was just a pity that the hall was so warm. Those at the back must have been sweltered. We have raised this with Bingley Arts Centre many times, but unfortunately the answer we get is that there is no money to put in any form of air conditioning. I would not like to go to a show there in the middle of summer when it must be enough to fry the audience. I know other people have written as well, but perhaps if everyone wrote, something might get done. Then again, probably not. The dinner on the 9 November is advertised for the first time this month. Please get booked quickly. Those who went last year will tell you what a good night this is, despite, last year, some problems with the food. However, we have been told that this will not happen again this year. Let’s see if we can beat last year’s 106 people at the dinner. So come along and support Colin & Angela. There is a roadshow at Clayton Village Hall on the 9 June. I hope some of you will be able to come along and help backstage or just support the show. If you can help, please see Stevie B. As you will know, it costs a lot of money to print The Billet each month. The main cost is the toner which the photocopier eats. If anyone knows where I can get toner for a Canon LaserBase MF3110 cheaply please let me know. The other cost is the paper. Already one member of the Bradford Magic Circle has donated 3 reams of paper, which helps. If you have a spare packet of copier paper or two, it will be greatly received, and help keep the costs down. By the time many of you are reading this, Pam & I will be off on our cruise around the Med. I hope the weather is better there than it has been. I’ll let you know if there was any magic on board ship next time. |
