Presidential

I have been advised that as President it is expected that I write an article each month for the Billet. Here is my first offering.

I was proud to be President Elect last year, and ‘chuffed to bits’ (a good old Yorkshire saying) to be made President this year. I will do my best to promote the society in a professional and honourable manner. My first engagement is later this month on Bradford’s local radio station. I will be talking about our society and the Hey Presto Show. I will report what happened in next month’s issue.

For those people who do not know me, I have always been interested in magic shows and about 9 years ago I joined Leeds Magical Association. I then moved to Bradford, read an article in the Telegraph & Argus about the Bradford Magic Circle and subsequently joined them. I am also a member of the Manchester Magicians Club. My wife, Angela, is a member of Leeds and also Bradford; being Welfare Officer for the latter.

For the last 7 years Angela and I have attended the Blackpool Convention, but this year we are giving it a miss. I always try and attend as many club meetings as I can, and I think you can have too much of a good thing. Probably we will attend Blackpool again next year.

Finally I would like to thank those members who have, at short notice, agreed to perform at the Leeds Magical Association on Tuesday 13th March.
