I must have been eight or nine when I was taken to the Leeds Empire to see Kalanag. What a show !  It had a lasting effect on me and I can still visualise his "Water from India", a giant lotus vase used as a running gag. His "Asrah" illusion really got my imagination going..like erm giant magnets. Certainly beats the masked magician. This picture is from a postcard presented to all visitors to a Northern Magic Circle dinner. See what you dieters are missing.
