Secretarial

Tonight we welcome some of the members of Leeds Magical Association who are with us in return for the show a team of us presented to them last year. It should be a good evening and hopefully we'll all have a good time. I am hoping to set up a similar exchange evening with members of Harrogate Society of Magicians, another club to which I along with Henry belong. A few members will remember some other members of Bradford Magic Circle who were also members of HSM. Amongst them were Bob Eaton and Alan Oldfield and from the younger end, Alistair Cook.

Harrogate Society of Magicians currently meets in Harlow Hill, I have maps to show where it is and they meet on the third Monday of each month. If anyone is interested in taking part as and when something can be arranged, please let me know.

A few of us are going across to Clayton Village Hall to present an evening of magic. I'll be doing the kids spot (No Six Card Repeat there then!) and joining me will be Ross Risdon, Melvyn Shalks, Lauren Stringwell, Dennis Calvert and Ray Roberts. Keith Pickles will be the M.C. on the evening. What we could do with are some assistants for sound and stage crew. I have some already ear marked but more will always be better. It would also be nice to have a reporter there for the Billet and I'm hoping to bring along my camcorder with tripod to have certain acts recorded so that they can self criticise their performances. Already stepping forward are Ken Mitchell, Ivan Robinson and Darren Borsos. More would be better. It is in the evening on May 13th and if we can get this first show established, it could become an annual source of income. A couple more of these a year and another lecturer could be put on the Diary schedule. I think it would be fair to say that those few familiar faces who always come out to support such events will get involved with a meeting whether it is from a lecturer of we have an in house event. On that line of thinking, it is in your own interests to help the Circle grow and progress.
