The numbers have begun to come in for the Dinner on the 18th so I'll be seeing a good many of you there. Hopefully there will be as good a turnout for our guest speaker tonight as our previous lecturer received. There should be something different in this meeting too. Don't forget our next meeting is our last one of the year so if you wish to send Christmas greeting to you friends at the Circle, bring your cards along and deposit them accordingly on the table. Please remember to pick up those left for you as well and if you can collect any for someone whom unable to be there it would be appreciated. We are of course, also drawing closer to the AGM, a while away yet but it will soon come round. If there are any things you would like to add to the Agenda please let Keith or me know so it can be added. Also have you considered jumping onto the Committee? We've got some new faces over the last few years. All too often the committee or individual members of the committee are approached with complaints, all of which are listened to and some of which are unfair. Please remember that it is far easier to sit back and criticise than it is to take on an active role. Solutions to suit all tastes are a lot harder to find than criticisms. Your committee is elected by you to run your Circle as they feel will benefit you best. Those who are dissatisfied with any matters relating to the meetings, shows, magazine etc, please remember a tremendous amount of our own time is spent working for your Circle. There are many other things being organised than the one thing that may have displeased you. If you don't know what sort of things I'm referring to, you should count yourself amongst the majority who supports the committee and accept its mistakes and poorer choices. Sadly, that isn't every member and earlier this year, this committee member felt it was possibly time to step down as your secretary and possibly off the committee. Spare a thought for us, committee members are people too. |
